Baker’s Corner

June 19, 2020

Happy Friday!! It’s been a busy week in the house painting the dining room, reorganizing the kitchen and pantry, and of course, working on the patio. One day it will be done…it will be done.

While baking for first responders, I tried a Snickerdoodle recipe by Sally’s Baking Addiction. I love cinnamon so this was right up my alley. They are so moist inside…AND, the hospital staff loved them!

Zu and I dehydrated treats this week. It’s a very easy process. I prefer using the dehydrator over hours in the oven. Dehydrators are not expensive and you produce healthy, cost effective treats. The dehydrator will pay for itself in no time.

The dining room painting and re-org is going well. I have a lot of photo props that need a home. This area is the first thing a visitor sees when they enter my home so I had to find something that looked nice and made sense. These are IKEA Billy Bookcases with Oxberg doors. They’re inexpensive and look nice. I’ll be adding my own hardware as they only come with little white knobs. If you’re trying to set up a media room and have record albums, these are not deep enough. KALLAX units are the most popular for album storage. Paint color is Benjamin Moore Premium Flat #777 Summer Nights.
